New Samsung galaxy note 9 launches in short term.

• Samsung is launching the Galaxy Note 9 at its unpacked event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 9. Samsung will also possibly launch the Galaxy Tab S4 alongside. The invite shared by the company teases the S-Pen stylus and because both the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Tab support the S-Pen stylus, we have reason to believe, Samsung will have a twin surprise in the offing on D-day. But whatever be the case, the Galaxy Note 9 should make the cut, since the August time-line sits well with Samsung's Galaxy Note launch window.

• The Galaxy Note 9 will likely be a Galaxy S9+ with an S-Pen stylus as well, only this time, it looks like the S-Pen is set to get a radical upgrade. Not that it needs to. Samsung's Galaxy Note is the only compelling option in the market if you're into a stylus after all. But that's not all that rumours mills are pointing at. The Galaxy Note 9 is said to ship with advanced cameras, an advanced Bixby assistant, a lighter and more fluid Experience software, and a massive battery. Here's a closer look.

SPECIFICATIONS

• Processor : Just like the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, the Galaxy Note 9 will be most probably powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 processor. The company has, so far, been launching only its Exynos-based Galaxy Note flagship phones in India, so chances are Exynos 9810-based Galaxy Note 9 would be coming to India. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-based Galaxy Note 9 will be sold in markets like South Korea and the US.

• RAM : The Galaxy Note 9 will come with 6GB RAM, but rumour has it that there will be two versions (with different storage) with 8GB RAM as well.

• Internal storage : While the 6GB RAM version of the Galaxy Note 9 will come with 128GB storage, the 8GB RAM version is said to ship in two configurations: 256GB and 512GB.

• Screen : Just like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, the Galaxy Note 9 will come with Samsung's proprietary Infinity display. Just like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, it will boast of an edge-to-edge screen and an unusual 18.5:9 aspect ratio instead of a regular 16:9. The Galaxy Note 9 will be only marginally bigger than the Galaxy S9+. While the Galaxy S9+ is a 6.2-inch phone, the Galaxy Note 9 is said to come with a 6.4-inch screen. The 6.4-inch screen of the Galaxy Note 9 will further have a WQHD+ resolution on top a Super AMOLED panel. The phone will also have an always-on display like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

• Rear camera : The Galaxy Note 9 will likely ship with the same dual cameras as the Galaxy S9+. This means the primary sensor will be able to shoot dual-pixel 12-megapixel photos, assisted by Optical Image Stabilisation. This sensor will have a variable aperture and will be able to shoot between f/1.5 and f/2.4 with the former assisting in low light and the latter jumping in when lighting is ideal. It will further come with a secondary 12-megapixel tele-photo sensor with fixed aperture (f/2.4) for portrait photography or bokeh and Samsung's hallmark Live Focus.

• Front camera : Just like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, the Galaxy Note 9 will also likely sport an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and f/1.7 aperture.

• Software : The Galaxy Note 9 will run Android Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI.

• Battery : The Galaxy Note 9 will likely be backed by a massive 4,000mAh battery, which will be a significant upgrade to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. It should support both fast and wireless charging out-of-the-box.

SPECIAL FEATURES

• Just like the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, the Galaxy Note 9 will be a long continuous sheet of glass with an edge-to-edge display and no physical buttons. It will look exactly like the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ with some minor tweaks here and there to justify its Note heritage. It will look a lot like last year's Note 9, only heavier to accommodate a larger battery inside. Also, unlike the Galaxy Note 8, the Galaxy Note 9 will have a more grounded and easily accessible fingerprint scanner, sitting below the dual camera module and not adjacent to it. The Galaxy Note 9 has been long rumoured to incorporate an in-display fingerprint scanner although recent reports suggest that Samsung may not be ready with the tech in time for the Galaxy Note 9 reveal.

• When the next Note is on the horizon, it is expected that it would set an even higher benchmark vis-a-vis, the S-Pen. Samsung is hinting no less than a spectacle in its teaser and serial tipster Ice Universe has gone so far as to say that the "Galaxy Note 9 S-Pen is (will be) a pen with a soul. It may be the biggest update in the history of the S-Pen." The Galaxy Note 9 teaser shared by Samsung shows off the S-Pen from all angles with particular emphasis on the clickable button on-board. Could Samsung be looking to upgrade this button further to make it all the more useful? We don't know yet. Could the S-Pen serve as some sort of additional locking mechanism for the Galaxy Note 9? We don't know yet. But that's one possibility. Whatever be the case, that S-Pen button will most definitely have something to say on August 9 when it's made official.

• Although the Galaxy Note 9 will most likely ship with the same camera specs as the Galaxy S9+, chances are that Samsung may incorporate its newly announced ISOCELL Plus technology inside the Galaxy Note 9 cameras. The ISOCELL tech employed by Samsung previously faced barriers in improving light sensitivity due to reflections from metals, according to Samsung, but the Fujifilm-sourced materials employed by the ISOCELL Plus should curb these disruptions and improve sensitivity by 15 percent, resulting in clearer images even in darker environments.
